Well, 96% of generation say yes and has joined a social network. Radio took 38 years to reach 50million users, television 13 years, Internet 4 years. But a social networking site Facebook added 100 million users in less than 9 months. If it were a country it would be the 4th largest in the world, i.e. China, India, USA and Facebook. As soon as the mobile social media arrived, 80% of Facebook and Twitter usage is on mobile devices. People can update their choices anywhere anytime. There are over 200,000,000 blogs on the internet. 34% of bloggers post opinions about products and brands using mobile devices. But it doesn’t mean that we all like what they say. According to popular surveys, 78% of consumers trust peer recommendation and only 14% trust advertising. In mobile media we won’t need to search for products and services. They will find us via social media. Mobile Social media is not hype, it is a fundamental shift in the way we communicate.
Moreover, there are lot of softwares that set on every single phone to watch, upload and download photos, videos etc. Even businesses are beginning to realize that they can use both the mobile and social network to transact their business.
Mobile is absolutely right, especially it relates to the consumption of information based on breaking news and sports etc. Now-a-days, many people use to purchase goods over the phone rather than using desktops and Laptops. When we talk about different devices like TV, pc and other ways of consuming medium, mobile is the one we have with us in our pocket.
Social media is indeed at its highest, its being promoted along with cellphones and plans offering 'unlimited social networking'. Imagine, from the internet it has jumped into the business place and cellphone industry - with the help of the advancement of technology..
ReplyDeleteI think that although social media has become increasingly popular we are nowhere near the climax of what it's going to be! I think that the opportunities with social media and furthermore mobile social media are endless and we're just beginning to realize what it can do for society!
ReplyDeleteWe are just at the beginning stages of the social media craze and one day we'll sit and tell our grandchildren about how social media was back in our day and they will think it's ancient technology.
Social media is definitely not a fad but I don't think it's at its highest moment yet either!
